Decree No. 513 of August 24, 2006 «On Patent Fees» of the President of the Republic of Belarus entered into force.
The Decree was issued for the purposes of improving the legal regulation of relations in the field of protecting industrial property (inventions, utility models, industrial designs, plant varieties, topology of integrated circuits, trademarks and service marks, appellations of origin) and bringing patent fee collection into order . The Decree determines objects liable to patent fees, patent fee payers, privileges for patent fee payment as well the rates of patent fees, the procedure and date of their payment. The Decree entered into force on August 1, 2006 and was applied to relations emerged after August 1, 2006. What concerns the legal relationship established prior to August 1, 2006, the Decree shall be applied to those rights and liabilities, which will arise after it has entered into force.
